The
Wayfarer Redemption follows on forty years after
the conclusion of StarMan. It tells the story
of Axis, Azhure and Faraday's children, and the terror
that confronts them through the Star Gate. I wrote
these books during a particularly bleak period in
my life ... but also a very happy time, as I discovered
the joys of gardening. You'll find both bleakness
and joy underpinning all three books.
They
also take on a very different tone in writing to the
original books. I was starting to experiment a little,
and to try and do different things with characters.
In these books I started my experiment with the shading
of good and evil, an exploration of the grey areas
of the human personality which I then carried on into
The Crucible series.
